This carved square bowl crafted by Bradford Chaucer is made from locally grown red oak. The center bowl portion was copper leafed and patinized. The top and sides of the piece were carved and then covered in paint. The paint was then sanded off the raised surface cutting through the paint to expose the underlying red oak. The under side or base of the bowl shows the natural red oak. The overall intent was to create a work reminiscent of early European and English wood pieces. This unique piece was inspired by the work of Vermont woodturner Alan Stirt.Dimensions: 7"x 7"; Center: 2-5/8" in diameter.
