Mark Rehmar was born June
28, 1945, to Joseph & Anne
Rehmar, and grew up in
Cleveland Heights,
Ohio.
He received a degree in
mathematics from the
University of Pittsburgh and
did graduate work in physics
at Cornell University.
In the
70s, he moved to Takilma,
Oregan to live on the New
Land-- a commune.
In 1985, he began designing
and building custom furniture
and later moved on to crafting
unique jewelry boxes made
mainly from quality domestic
solid woods combined with
highly figured burl veneers.
His designs were unique He
was a skilled artist,
master woodworker and
owner of Mark Rehmar
Studio.
