Micheal Fisher of
Illinois founded his company
Heartwood Creations in 1978.
His passion for woodworking
began as a child when he was
inspired by watching his
father make wood furniture
for their home.
Today, his
sliding wood dovetail boxes
(fondly known as secret
boxes) and his wooden
mechanical puzzle boxes are
leading symbols of The
American Arts & Crafts
movement. Each secret box
and puzzle box of Michael
Fisher, bears a tiny lazer
engraved heart.
His
fine jewelry boxes are all
signed, and each one is
inscribed with the name of the
collection as well as the types
of woods used.
